15 June. Death of George Rogers, aged 66.

George Rogers

George Rogers

George Rogers died suddenly from a heart attack on 15th June at the age of 66. This came as a shock to relatives and friends, and his passing is a great loss to our club. George joined the association along with his brother-in-law Alan Stuchfield in 1984 after reading of our existence in a newspaper article. He became a regular in all competitions and made steady progress over the years, winning the Birmingham Cup in 1987. Off the board he was well known for his jokes and stories and friendly disposition. He will be greatly missed by all of us, and our sympathies go to his widow Mary.
