Sept? Warwickshire Championship Final: Harold Pritchard beat Brian Lucas by 1-0 and 3 draws.

Midland Championship. Final at Leicester: Charlie Warburton (wearing his black beret) beat Brian Lucas by 3-0, 0 draws.

Aug?  W.D. Harvey died. He started playing in the Birmingham League at the start of the century and was the first president of the Warwickshire county association in 1947. He had numerous problems published and was a keen postal player.

June? Kenilworth Cup Final: W.E. Hirst (Leicester) beat H. Pritchard.

Warwickshire Cup was won by Harold Pritchard.

1963

Warwickshire Championship Final: Harold Pritchard beat Stan Ager.

Birmingham Cup was won by Len Birks.

Kenilworth Cupwas won by Harold Elkington.

1964

Friendly at Pype Hayes Park, Birmingham. Warwickshire lost to Worcestershire and Staffordshire by 6-7 and 5 draws.

Birmingham Cup. Final: Len Birks beat Brian Gough.

Kenilworth Cup was won by Bill Cooper. A record of 18 entries.

Warwickshire Cup. 16 entries. Final: Harold Pritchard beat Stan Ager by 1-0 and 3 draws..

Postal Cup Final. J. Wilson (Coventry) beat W. Jones.

Sat 26 Sept. The English Draughts Association AGM was held at Digbeth Civic Hall, Birmingham.

1965

Sat 9 Jan. AGM of the Warwickshire DA. Secretary - W.H. Cooper was re-elected.

Sat 27 March. Counties "Sunday Citizen" Cup. Semi-final at Digbeth Civic Hall, Birmingham. Warwickshire lost to Yorkshire by 7-9 and 6 draws.

Warwickshire Championship. 14 entries. Semi-final: W.H. Cooper (Pype Hayes) beat Harold Pritchard (Shirley) by 2-0 and 2 draws 0; Len Birks (Saltley) beat A.E. Beck (Kenilworth) by 2-1 and 3 draws.
Final : W.H. Cooper beat Len Birks by 1-0 and 3 draws.

Birmingham Championship. 12 entries. Final: Brian Gough beat Bill Cooper after being 3 times losing finalist.

Warwickshire DA AGM. Harold Elkington - president, Brian Gough - secretary, W.H.Cooper - treasurer.

June-Sept. Leamington Trades Hall open tourney. 12 entries. Semi-final: Brian Gough vs John Dowey; Arthur Butcher vs Jack Quinn or W.H. Cooper.

June. The committee decided to enter 4 teams in the EDA Postal League. Captains: W.H. Cooper, Len Birks, Harold Elkington and Brian Gough.
Final: Arthur Butcher beat Brian Gough by 2-0 and 1 draw.

Warwickshire Postal championship (begun in 1964). Final: Arthur Butcher beat J. Brown (Walsall) by 1-0 and 3 draws. 16 entries.

1966-7. Kenilworth Cup. 16 entries. Final: Harold Pritchard beat Arthur Butcher.

Dec. Leamington Trades Hall second 2-life invtation tourney of 8 players. The 3 remaining players were Arthur Butcher, Jack Quinn and J. Dowey.

Dec? Fred Tatler took over from Harold Elkington as EDA Postal League Secretary.

1967

Sat 14 Jan. AGM at Brooks Vaults, Birmingham. Harold Elkington - President; Brian Gough - Secretary.

Warwickshire Postal Championship. 16 entries. Final. Arthur Butcher vs Jack Quinn.

March? C. W. Osborne of Kenilworth died, aged 87. He played in numerous British and English championship tournaments. Father of Stan Osborne.

Counties Cup. Gloucestershire lost to Warwickshire by 8-13 and 9 draws.

Warwickshire championship. 11 entries. Final: Harold Pritchard beat Arthur Butcher. The 6th time he'd won.

1968

1967-8. Kenilworth Cup was won by Harold Pritchard.

Sat 6 Jan. AGM (21st). Officers re-elected en bloc, including Brian Gough as secretary and Harold Elkington as president.

Leamington Trades Hall tournament. Final: Bob Farquhar beat Bill Halsey by 2-1 and 1 draw.

9 Feb. at the Trades Hall, Leamington Spa. Counties Cup. Warwickshire beat Gloucestershire by 9-5 and 8 draws.

Wed 14 Feb. Birmingham Championship 1967. Final: In his first year of serious draughts, Bill Halsey won the title by beating Bill Cooper 2-1 and 1 draw. He became the first holder of the Mackay Cup, donated by C.J. Mackay.

Sat 2 March at Leamington. Counties Cup Semi-final: Warwickshire lost to Yorkshire by 2-14 and 8 draws.

(11 Jan 1969) Warwickshire Championship Final: Bill Jones (Nuneaton) beat Len Birks (Saltley) by 3-1, 0 draws. The first time Jones had won the title, but he'd been in 1947 final. He beat Harold Pritchard (holder) in the semi-final.

Leamington Trades Hall 2-life Invitational tournament. Players invited were Stan Ager, Bob Farquhar, A. E. Beck, Bill Halsey, Arthur Butcher, Brian Gough, Jack Quinn and Harold Elkington.
The competition was won by Harold Elkington.

Birmingham Cup won by Arthur Butcher.

Thurs 3 Oct. Bill Halsey was seriously injured in a car accident.

26-30 May. The English Championship was held at Leamington with a record entry of 47. Bill Halsey won the handicap. His sister Joan was the first ever woman entrant.

1969-70. Harold Pritchard won the Kenilworth Cup for the third time in a row.
